The Disney ABC Television Group (DATG) is home to all of The Walt Disney Company's worldwide entertainment and news television properties. The Group includes the ABC Television Network (including ABC Entertainment Group and ABC News divisions); the Disney Channels Worldwide global kids’ TV business and ABC Family; as well as television distribution divisions Disney ABC Domestic Television and Disney ABC ESPN Television. The Disney ABC Television Group also manages the Radio Disney Network, as well the Company’s equity interest in A&E Television Networks. Basic Qualifications: •All students must be eligible to work in the US •All students must be at least 18 years old •You must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship. •All students must be available to a minimum of 3 full work days (8 hours/day) •All students must be available during the months of September through December for the 12 week program. •All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship •Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite •Highly motivated and organized •Prior experience writing a press release •Strong communication skills Preferred Qualifications: •Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year •Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher •Previous internship experience within a related field Additional Information: Compensation: Intern positions are paid employment opportunities. Responsibilities: The candidate would be responsible for assisting the day-to-day function of the east coast Media Relations team, particularly with major events including the fall launch for 2015-2016 season and CasiNo Night Sales Event. Interns will be supervised by the Manager, Artist Relations and Publicity Coordinator. ABC Entertainment Group Communications encompasses a broad range of shows from talk and lifestyle to comedy and drama. The diverse programming landscape creates a wonderful learning environment for any student aspiring to a Public Relations career. Key Responsibilities: • Assisting needs of the Vice President, Publicists, Artist Relations Manager, and Coordinator • Support efforts leading up to and including major events • Assisting at special events • Observing and helping with media set visits and talent interviews • Compile press clippings on an as needed basis, especially surrounding major events • Facilitating press mailings • Maintaining press contact lists
