The Disney ABC Television Group (DATG) is home to all of The Walt Disney Company's worldwide entertainment and news television properties. The Group includes the ABC Television Network (including ABC Entertainment Group and ABC News divisions); the Disney Channels Worldwide global kids’ TV business and ABC Family; as well as television distribution divisions Disney ABC Domestic Television and Disney ABC ESPN Television. The Disney ABC Television Group also manages the Radio Disney Network, as well the Company’s equity interest in A&E Television Networks. More people get their news from ABC News than from any other source. ABC News is responsible for all of the ABC Television Network's news programming on a variety of platforms: television, radio and digital. ABC News Los Angeles Bureau is responsible for covering stories on the West Coast and Mid-West. This includes topics from entertainment to the weather. The LA Bureau intern will assist on shoots, transcribe interviews, and perform various administrative and production tasks to support producers and correspondents.


Basic Qualifications: -All candidates must be eligible to work in the US. -All candidates must be at least 18 years old. -All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship. -All candidates must be available during the months of September through December for the 12-week program. -All candidates must be willing to work up to 40 hours/week. -All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session. -All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship Preferred Qualifications: -Recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date preferred. -Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. -Previous experience (academic or internship) in journalism (print and/or broadcast); television, news and new media production; and/or television news script writing. -Strong familiarity with social media news outlets. -Previous internship in a professional newsroom/local news affiliate preferred. -Experience in DV Cam operations. -Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. -Strong customer service skills.


Responsibilities: Other responsibilities include: -Helping with production tasks such as logging, shooting and being on hand to aid during shoots. -Researching stories and helping produce daily segments. -Administrative tasks such as answering phone and sorting mail.
