The ideal candidate should be enrolled in a graphic arts, design or design communications major. He or she must possess a strong interest in editorial design with a focus on health, food and women’s life and wellness issues. Candidates must be highly organized, efficient, detail oriented and have excellent follow-through skills. This is a completely hands on, intensive internship suitable only for someone who is a fast learner, embraces a “can-do” attitude and is extremely proactive. The ability to multi-task is an absolute must. Responsibilities include but are Not limited to: designing layouts for the magazine in InDesign, manipulating images in Photoshop and miNor work in Illustrator; shopping for, preparing, organizing and packing props to be used in photo shoots; providing administrative support and maintaining general organization within the art department; and performing any and all art department-related duties as assigned. Our interns are valued extensions of the art department and play an integral role in getting each and every issue published.
