Description

The AJC offers fall, spring and summer internships. Fall/spring semester internships are part-time, offering local students a chance to earn college credit and/or pay. Summer internships are paid, 10-week programs. The AJC is looking for upper-level college students interested in pursuing a career as a reporter, database specialist or interactive producer. Interns are treated as full-time professional journalists.

Responsibilities

The AJC's digital interns will work with the audience department learning to cultivate and grow audiences through social media, content curation/creation and interactive development. Throughout the course of the internship, digital interns will have the opportunity in a variety of areas depending on their skills and interests. Areas include: content, mobile, hyper-local, interactive development, products and platforms, social, strategic revenue and things to do. The digital interns will leave the program with the kNowledge to identify and surface content that will resonate with our communities and an understanding of how to best socialize their content to new audiences. The interns will also be able to identify and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) and use that kNowledge to measure their own success within the program. In addition, the digital interns will have an understanding of the future of digital as it pertains to audience and revenue growth as well as the importance of emerging apps, social platforms and mobile on the future of the industry.
