3 Month Placement working within the LA Mother Editorial Team

So, you want to be a writer?

We are looking for qualified interns to join our growing start-up in LA.

The Business

We are a deluxe Hollywood Coworking space & full service marketing agency with Non-profit & for profit iterations.

We also house an entertainment app and website in house and promote a myriad of events & clients. The company is dynamic and versatile with sticky fingers in a lot of pies. Due to recent expansion, we are seeking to augment our team for day-to-day operations.

While we are Not female-only and are open to male candidates, we are female-fueled. Our mission is closely tied to female empowerment, fighting for wage equality in and beyond Hollywood, so the ideal candidates will be well versed and interested in these topics, and able to hold salient conversation about them with guests and on calls.

Requirements

Studying towards an English, Journalism, Communications or Gender Studies degree Interested in a variety of issues relating to women, sexuality, reproduction, entertainment and culture An avid reader and writer Understand the complexities of the LA entertainment scene Has a writing portfolio

Responsibilities

The Job You will be working with our creative writer in residence writing editorial content and copy for our website, while supporting editorial staff at the assistant level: doing research, finding stock images, fact checking posts & links and scheduling content on social media. You won’t be making photocopies or making coffee (although occasionally it would be nice). In addition, you will be crafting articles that go directly to the audience and working with our editor to improve your writing style for social media.
