Description

Hanley Wood Media's Design Group seeks an intelligent, enthusiastic individual interested in design and architecture journalism for an Editorial Internship in the company's Washington, D.C. headquarters. The intern would contribute to all of the Design Group's publications: ARCHITECT, Residential Architect, Architectural Lighting. This position will offer $12.00 per hour and will require 30-40 hours per week within our core business hours (M-F 8:30am - 5:30pm).

Requirements

Recent college graduates preferred. College seniors studying Journalism, English, Art, or a related field will also be considered for the program Strong writing and communication skills Ability to multi-task and manage projects and stories simultaneously Prior journalism experience preferred but Not required Basic kNowledge of WordPress or similar content management systems a plus Must be able to work from the Washington, D.C. office (No teleworking)

Responsibilities

Writing brief articles on architecture and design for online (apx. 200 to 500 words) Fact-checking for the print magazines Posting to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram accounts Researching special projects Requesting photos and visuals Attending daily meetings and pitching interesting ideas
