Description
This magazine is a large format monthly and targeted at the expatriate and English speaking Chinese communities, long stay guests, and business visitors. Content is a mix of local news, information and entertainment including a What’s On Guide, monthly themed Supplements and the city’s essential listings. The network uses over 5,000 distribution outlets including: entertainment locations, high-end residential complexes and office blocks, airlines, leading hotels, top restaurants and clubs, golf courses, international schools, private medical centers, embassies, consulates and chambers of commerce. Interns are responsible for generating story ideas, attending events (like restaurant/bar/gallery openings, fashion shows, restaurant tastings, press conferences, etc.), writing content for both online and print, conducting interviews, updating listings and calendar, helping with online marketing and content, sourcing pictures, etc.
Ideal Candidate: Ideal candidate will be majoring in English, Journalism, PR, Media-related fields, and will have at least two writing samples that are journalistic in nature (Not from a class paper). Ideally, at least one will include quotes from an interview. If a candidate is very interested in working in editorial but has yet to write anything relevant, we invite them to write short reviews of a movie, book, restaurant, etc. they’ve recently seen/read/eaten.
