Description

The primary responsibility of this position will be supporting the Fundraising and Communications team in the development of grant proposals and reports to institutional and individual funders. Secondary responsibilities include contributing to special events planning, doNor communications projects and giving campaigns. The position will involve a great deal of writing, as well as significant doNor and client interaction. Professionalism is mandatory -- in both writing and in all other interactions with doNors and partners.

• Excellent writing and editing skills, ability to quickly produce high quality, professional-looking written material; • Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness; able to consistently produce financials, reports, and grant proposals free of errors; • Interest in learning from experience • Ability to work productively in an independent, fast-paced and collaborative environment • Love of problem-solving and being resourceful • Ability to be politely persistent when the situation calls for it • Creative and entrepreneurial spirit • Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications or experience writing professionally a plus. • Demonstrates Accion's six core values: adaptability, dedication, integrity, empathy, inclusion, passion

Responsibilities

Proposal and Report Management (75%) Help write and submit funding proposals to foundations, corporations and government agencies; Collaborate with other departments to produce periodic reports to doNors as needed; Identify, cultivate, and communicate with doNors; keep them informed on a regular basis about Accion East's work and the impact of their contributions Research and seek out potential sources of funding. Communications and Event Planning (25%) Help draft and edit content for Accion East's monthly e-newsletter, Credit Lines; Support the creation of promotional materials such as program one-pagers and event invitations. Create engaging written content, for both online and offline use, including borrower and doNor profiles. Oversee, supervise, and provide administrative support for fundraising campaigns and special events, including Accion's Harvest Festival. Identify opportunities to do something new or different; such as incorporating new techNologies and/or tools into our work.
