This Music Conservatory aims to promote individual, professional, and community growth through all genres of music. They make music accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels through their music instruction and concerts throughout the community. This organization is seeking a Grant Writing Intern. The primary responsibility is to assist in the research and grant writing for the Conservatory, as well as assist with marketing projects, and fundraising events as assigned. Responsibilities include: Writing grant applications, interim/final reports, and letters of inquiry to current funders Writing proposals and letters of inquiry to prospective funders Writing thank you letters to funders and other individuals as needed Perform prospect research Coordinate materials to supplement grants, foundation, corporate and individual proposals and applications. Maintain hard copy files including corporate and business files, in-kind contributions files, special project files, government grants files and foundation files. S/he will assist in maintaining individual files, general office files as needed and requested. Assist in the coordination and implementation of solicitation mailings, ackNowledgements, and processing donations. Work on special projects as assignment There is a small stipend available for this internship.

Ideal Candidate: Excellent writing, formatting, and communication skills Meticulous attention to detail Ability to multi-task and work independently Background in or kNowledge of music Background in or kNowledge of music therapy a plus Passion for music a plus Interest in Nonprofit administration, development, and/or writing Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Preferred Education Background: Music Education; Music Therapy; Arts Administration; Development; Creative Writing; and/or Journalism
