Health Connexions is seeking Interns for 5 to 40 hours per week. This is an unpaid Internship in life sciences and health care (3 to 6 months) where we will take your core skills and experience and build some amazing results, together! JOURNALISM and MARKETING INTERNSHIP IN LIFE SCIENCES and HEALTH CARE
General Purpose: Preparation of materials and completion of specific projects, while ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. The intern will learn best practices in marketing and communications from experienced staff.
Responsibilities include:
• Writing, editing, and sending out press releases
• Marketing support
• Social media engagement
• Updating and creating content for online communities
• Assisting with email marketing campaigns
• Event coordination support (“virtual” and real-time)
• Database updates

Available year-round.

Requirements

Candidate should possess: • Bachelor’s degree (or candidacy) in the fields of marketing, science, English or communications • Interest in Marketing, Communications, Writing and Social Media • Strong organizational skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, basic database kNowledge • KNowledge of project management techniques and tools ** We are specifically looking for interns with STRONG WRITING ABILITIES to help write and edit press releases. Responsibilities

Here are some of the main projects we are looking at having you get involved in. Overall, you would get lots of experience in writing newsletters and press releases, do webinars, social media and other promotional activity for any number of these activities. • Write, edit, and send out press releases from both of our companies • Identify centers of inNovation and techNology transfer offices, government people and employers in your area – involved in life sciences and health care (and/or use our list of 5 million+ contacts) • Inform them/market to them about our programs: o Webinars, press releases, emails to share their science with the world o Helping them raise capital to fund their new business ideas o Our Marketing-Communications ‘Kick Start’ Program for small companies o Application process to have us help them for free o Government money we can help them obtain to grow their business o Our marketing communications services that they can purchase (e.g., white papers, user meetings, trade show help) o Our market research and strategic planning services o The unique Signature Square™ program – to help promote, rate and rank new science, techNologies and services o The unique TechNology Evaluation Consortium™ for hands-on validation of new science, techNologies and services o Holding and promoting local events to promote science
