Award-winning Destination Magazine is accepting applications from college graduates for its editorial internship program starting immediately.
Interns work on a full-time, unpaid basis for three months and receive highly practical experience in story conceptualization, critical reading and analysis, research, fact checking, editorial writing and collaborative work.
Each intern works closely with an editor and takes part in the creation of the publication’s content. Interns are encouraged to generate ideas and creatively contribute to the overall concept of each issue.
Applicants must have recently completed a degree in journalism, English literature or similar course of study. In addition, candidates must have effective verbal and written communication skills, with a very keen eye for detail.
This position is based remotely from the main DM office in Nairobi, Kenya. As such interns will work from their Normal base location and communicate daily with other editorial staff via email, phone, video and other digital avenues. Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to work alone, while remaining highly focused on given assignments. DM is a very high profile title and deadlines are critical as is quality of work.
If you are passionate about investigative journalism or have an unquenchable appetite for quality film, music and television, this is the perfect internship for you!
