WETA Public Television and Classical 90.9 FM provides internship opportunities designed to help expand students' kNowledge and experience in public media and compliment their studies.

Interns in the Outreach Department provide support on a variety of assignments that may include writing, events management, data compilation, marketing and web research. Interns will support major outreach events that may entail managing materials and content for individual events. Examples of Outreach Department projects include: WETA Kids educational programs Ready To Learn and Where Literacy Begins, the WETA Veteran's Initiative and upcoming Ken Burns documentary projects.


To be eligible, interns must be currently enrolled in a college or university or have graduated within 12 months from the beginning of the internship. Interns may receive academic credit for their internship if approved and arranged by their educational institution. This is an unpaid internship with a small travel stipend available. Preferred major in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or Education. Excellent written and oral communication skills along with strong organizational and computer skills including Internet research are essential. Event coordination and research experience preferred.
