Basic Qualifications: •All candidates must be eligible to work in the US •All candidates must be at least 18 years old •All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship •All candidates must be available from September through early December for the 12-15 week program •All candidates must be willing to work a minimum of 2 full days/week (8 hours/day); full-time 40 hours/week assignments may be available •All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship •All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session •Demonstrated interest (academic or internship) in journalism (print and/or broadcast) •Candidates with positive attitudes, excited to be part of the team Preferred Qualifications: •Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year •Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher •Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office •Proficiency in Non-linear, digital video editing (AVID, Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere) •Previous internship experience in a professional newsroom setting •Familiarity with ABC News Programming


Responsibilities: Nightline is part of ABC News award-winning news team. It airs nightly Monday-Friday at 12:35am. The 30 minute broadcast takes viewers inside stories ranging from breaking news to feature reports. Nightline interns will be exposed to the inner-workings of a network broadcast--from pitching stories to seeing the final product on the air. Interns will assist producers and staff with all aspects of production. Duties include but are Not limited to: • Assisting with breaking news crashes • Daily logging elements • Going on Shoots • Researching stories, assisting on shoots & additional support functions • Office management including answering phones, sorting mail etc. Nightline interns will shadow a variety of positions allowing them to see how the show comes together each night.
