Basic Qualifications: •All candidates must be eligible to work in the US •All candidates must be at least 18 years old •All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship •All candidates must be available from September through early December for the 12-15 week program •All candidates must be willing to work a minimum of 2 full days/week (8 hours/day); full-time 40 hours/week assignments may be available •All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship •All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session •Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications: •Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year •Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher •Proficiency in Non-linear, digital video editing (AVID, Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere) •Previous experience (academic or internship) in journalism (print and/or broadcast) •Previous internship experience in a fast-paced, professional newsroom setting •Familiarity with ABC News Programming


Responsibilities: "ABC World News Tonight with David Muir" is the news division's flagship broadcast. With unparalleled reporting, "World News Tonight" provides the latest information and analysis of major events from around the country and the world. Anchored by David Muir, the broadcast draws upon an award-winning team of correspondents, producers and off-air reporters. A semester-long internship with "World News Tonight with David Muir" gives the participant experience in the field of broadcast journalism through a very hands-on approach. Interns will participate in the production process by assisting producers in the Digital Media center by logging and transcribing interviews, digitizing tapes, feeding tapes to various bureaus and ordering relevant video for pieces. Interns will also get the chance to go out in the field to assist crews on shoots and may get the chance to shoot their own video and sit in on editing sessions. We encourage interns to pitch stories and topics for future broadcasts. Key Responsibilities: • Logging/transcribing tapes; digitizing tapes; feeding tapes to bureaus; processing file video requests • Assisting crews and reporters on shoots/infield; scouting field locations • Supporting producers and editors; coordinating scripts • Pitching/Developing story ideas; assisting with story planning; conducting research • Sitting in on editing sessions
