ABC News Radio’s digital customer portfolio includes serving as the premiere news and lifestyle content provider for Slacker Radio. Responsibilities: The ABC News Radio intern will assist in supporting the operational and technical needs of ABC News Radio.


Basic Qualifications: •All candidates must be eligible to work in the US •All candidates must be at least 18 years old •All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship •All candidates must be available from September through early December for the 12-15 week program •All candidates must be willing to work a minimum of 2 full days/week (8 hours/day); full-time 40 hours/week assignments may be available •All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship •All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session •All candidates must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office •Demonstrated proficiency (academic or previous internship) with multi-track audio production •Demonstrated proficiency (academic or previous internship) with broadcast writing Preferred Qualifications: •Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year •Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office •Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher •Previous experience (academic or previous internship) in radio and/or video news production •Previous experience (academic or previous internship) with audio engineering/production •Previous experience (academic or previous internship) with writing for broadcast •Previous on-air radio experience


Responsibilities include the ability to contribute and grow both the terrestrial and digital platforms currently deployed by ABC News Radio. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to prioritize and meet the needs of a busy network news operation by providing a high level of production and technical support. Candidate should also have a comprehensive understanding of digital audio systems, including recording and editing capabilities, database and workflow kNowledge and troubleshooting skills. Candidates should be capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously as well as have the ability to work quickly and accurately fast-paced environment.
