The Disney ABC Television Group (DATG) is home to all of The Walt Disney Company's worldwide entertainment and news television properties. The Group includes the ABC Television Network (including ABC Entertainment Group and ABC News divisions); the Disney Channels Worldwide global kids’ TV business and ABC Family; as well as television distribution divisions Disney ABC Domestic Television and Disney ABC ESPN Television. The Disney ABC Television Group also manages the Radio Disney Network, as well the Company’s equity interest in A&E Television Networks. More people get their news from ABC News than from any other source. ABC News is responsible for all of the ABC Television Network's news programming on a variety of platforms: television, radio and digital.


Basic Qualifications: •All candidates must be eligible to work in the US •All candidates must be at least 18 years old •All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship •All candidates must be available from September through early December for the 12-15 week program •All candidates must be willing to work a minimum of 2 full days/week (8 hours/day); full-time 40 hours/week assignments may be available •All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship •All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session •All candidates must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in MS Word & Microsoft Outlook •Demonstrated interest (academic or previous internship) in investigative journalism •Previous experience (academic or internship) in researching and writing for news stories Preferred Qualifications: •Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year •Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher •Candidates pursuing a degree in journalism or equivalent


Responsibilities: The Brian Ross Investigative Unit produces investigative stories for all ABC News programs, including World News Tonight with David Muir, Nightline, Good Morning America, and 20/20. The unit also publishes the investigative website on Interns at the Brian Ross Unit play a key role in supporting producers throughout the production process. Responsibilities include but are Not limited to: •Support producers and editors in the edit rooms for day-of-air pieces •Tape research and transcription •Assist producers with research and development for investigative broadcast pieces •Pitch, report and write stories for the investigative unit's website •Assist in the daily administrative duties of running the unit
