Description

The YWCA of the City of New York is seeking an engaging, organized, and enthusiastic Social Media Intern to work within the Development department. The candidate must have a true passion for social media, techNology, trends and inNovation in the digital and social space with strong writing skills.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities • Campaign Development: assist team with social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flicker, and other social media platforms), • Coordinating creative executions for landing pages, default graphics, and other elements within the communities. • Research: assist with basic research as needed in order to engage the community and to investigate any trending activities within the community. • Community Management: assist social media coordinators with day-to-day community management, fan engagement, page and content moderation, and general outreach. • Posting blogs and articles, updating information on profile, monitoring and responding to various posts on different forums, researching on the content that is to be published and creating new content as well. • Researching on the competitors’ sites in order to identify their marketing strategies. • Searching for a new social media platform that could effectively reach the customer base of his company and can also integrate with their products and services. Requirements • Matriculated in a college or university or have a Bachelor’s degree in advertising, communications, marketing, new media or public relations. • Must have exceptional writing and grammatical skills and a flair for communicating in all social media channels. • Ability to multi-task and switch gears and mind-set frequently and rapidly to capitalize on traffic opportunities. • Working kNowledge of and experience with online networks (including but Not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google, Tumblr, MySpace etc.) • Advanced level skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and graphic design. • Must be positive, reliable, detail-oriented, diligent and able to adapt easily to change. • Passion for the philanthropic sector and social justice issues a plus. • Some travel required.
