Description

Forward-thinking, fast paced Non-profit looking to hire an intern with strong kNowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites. Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) is a 501c(3) land trust dedicated to conserving land and protecting wildlife habitat in the Concord, Assabet and Sudbury river basin. Our office is based in Sudbury, MA; however, we work in 36 surrounding communities west of Boston.

We are currently redesigning our web presence and hope to soon launch a revised social media campaign. The intern hired for this position will need strong critical thinking skills to integrate into our vibrant and passionate team who are very excited to share this launch. We are looking for an intern hoping to gain great online experience, kNowledge in local conservation efforts, meaningful community engagement.

Requirements

Students applying for this internship should have: a strong interest in environmental and conservation field; an academic background in marketing, business, communications, or related field preferred; familiarity in social media platforms including working kNowledge of business- oriented social media pages Skills & Trailing Provided • Training on land conservation and stewardship practices and projects • Orientation to existing volunteer program tools • Possible training on various communication and outreach tactics

Responsibilities

• Create and monitor posts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and any other social media channels used to promote our work • Choose what pictures we will post for each channel. • Research the latest trends that our members and partners are talking about. • Come up with attention grabbing taglines, hashtags, and text to include in our posts. • Help our Membership and Outreach team devise a social media strategy • Website and social media optimization • Reports to Michael Sanders, Director of Membership and Outreach
