Description

This movies for television & miniseries department is responsible for the development of movies made specifically for television and miniseries/limited series. The intern will have an opportunity to learn potential material research, script development, as well as aspects of physical production, such as pre-production, production and post. Our division has 12-15 projects on our slate per year, through a combination of original productions via scripted development and acquisitions.

The projects the intern will work on will be movies and miniseries/limited series for television. Previous projects by this department include Hatfields & McCoys, The Gabby Douglas Story, The Red Tent, With This Ring, Beautiful & Twisted, The Lizzie Borden Chronicles and Cleveland Abduction.

Requirements

An interest in reading and research, great organizational and multitasking skills, an ability to prioritize. The intern should also be open to standard office tasks (filing, organizing, running on-lot errands if needed – i.e., to post, Ricoh, etc.) as well as be able to have thoughtful discussions regarding material. The Spectrum Internship Program's Fall session is a part-time, 20 hour/ week commitment lasting for a 14 week period from mid-September through mid-December. All applicants must be in good academic standing and available for the entire 14 week session.

Responsibilities

The intern will learn how projects are developed, from the acquisition of books, to the hiring of writers, to the attachment of talent such as director, cast, etc. The intern will learn what material is of interest to networks, including broadcast, cable and digital.
