Description

Interns play a key role in helping the news gathering efforts of the sports department of network. Responsibilities include helping to distribute and share video of interesting sports stories on a local, regional and national level and share this video throughout News, our affiliates and the network. Since we are a very small department, we rely on interns to do a lot of the basic production work, including clipping video and soundbites, archiving material and searching for file requests.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications •Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year •Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher •Demonstrated interest (academic or internship) in sports & sports journalism/production •Familiarity with DV Camera operations Additional Information These positions are with: Am Brd Companies, Inc. Responsibilities

• Logging and editing sports events, file video and excerpts of sporting event press conferences • Maintaining our digital sports archive, the only immediate, instant access to sports file for News • Cutting weekly Great and Blooper Plays of the week segments we send to stations Basic Qualifications •All candidates must be eligible to work in the US •All candidates must be at least 18 years old •All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship •All candidates must be available from September through early December for the 12-15 week program •All candidates must be willing to work 30 hours/week with possible weekend shifts as news dictates •All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship •All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session •All candidates must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office •Proficiency in digital video editing (AVID, Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere) •Previous coursework in television production & editing or equivalent experience •Strong kNowledge of all sports news/media including online, social media and sports news programming
