About.com’s new US Travel expert is seeking an intern to start as soon as possible.
-Passionate about travel and writing -Detailed oriented to ensure copy is clean and free of errors -Reliable and self motivated -Skilled at engaging readers and promoting content using social media -Familiar with or interested in learning about SEO -Available to dedicate roughly one day per week, or about 9 hours, to the job. Some weeks may require more work, some may require less -A creative ideas person who loves thinking up attention-grabbing headlines and interesting story packing approaches This is an excellent opportunity for an up-and-coming writer/editor/content strategist to get hands-on experience creating digital content. -Researching US travel trends -Brainstorming story ideas/packaging -Potentially writing some travel stories (with bylines as a guest contributor) -Doing photo research -Assisting with building articles and slideshows using About.com’s content management system (you will get instruction on how to do this and won’t need to kNow HTML) -Proofreading copy -Learning how to analyze site metrics using Google Analytics and About.com’s own internal metrics -Promoting stories across social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
