This internship plays a vital role in the day to day operations of both paid and editorial video content in the new Houston Studio. The internship will be an valuable stepping stone to potential greater duties and give the intern increased exposure to studio production and deadline driven products. The Intern will give support in studio, postproduction and possibly on location to help assist and deliver finished video product for PennWell’s brands. The Intern will flexible and be able to work in all areas of the video production pipeline, from planning to project tracking to final delivery. This is a 20+ hour per week paid internship position.


Skills and KNowledge: Basic understanding of the video production process Ability to adapt to changes needs and requirements for the production of timely video product A positive attitude, with a desire to learn and grow in the video production industry Computer skills, especially on a MAC and with video editing software, including Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and any other media production software Some Experience with studio operations, shooting experience, audio experience and adobe premiere pro is a must. Basic working kNowledge of a video studio, including lighting, audio and camera work Qualifications 1-3 years of video production experience, Video editing, camera work, studio work Enrollment or recent graduate in coursework that corresponds to the media industry, including Video Production, Broadcast Journalism, Film studies. Post graduate preferred. Ability to have a flexible schedule according to video production workflow needs, including possible travel on a few occasions. Punctual and dependable Adaptability in overcoming technical difficulties


Shoot, edit and produce corporate newscasts. Interface with on-camera talent and editors and other key stakeholders to coordinate schedules and all needed creative assists to deliver broadcast/high quality video products for various brands that we serve at PennWell Deliver assigned video projects on time and up to standards. Work with internal and external resources to assist the video production team Adapt quickly to changing assignments to include planning and project tracking as well as traditional shooting and editing, in studio and/or on location. Implementation: Manage time wisely to get assigned work accomplished Communicate effectively with the manager and others during the production cycle Create industry standard video production assets as defined by the manager
